Cookies
Only if you say yes.
This site sets no cookies until you have agreed to them. Until you answer the question at the bottom of the page, and if you answer no, nothing is loaded from anyone else and nothing is stored on your device except the record of your answer.
If you say yes
We load Google Analytics, which counts visits so we can see which pages are read and which traditions to work on next. It sets these cookies:
_ga— distinguishes one browser from another. Expires after two years._ga_897H0HY9N7— keeps the state of your visit for this site. Expires after two years.
Google receives the address of each page you open here, along with your approximate location, browser and device. We have turned off the settings that would let Google use this for advertising or build a profile across other sites, and we do not ask it for demographics. We cannot see who you are from it, and neither of us should be able to.
If you say no
Nothing is loaded and nothing is set. Google is never contacted, so it never learns you were here. The site behaves in exactly the same way — nothing is withheld, and you will not be asked again unless you clear your browser storage.
The one thing stored either way
Your answer itself, under beliefcalendar.consent, so that we honour it and do not ask again on every page. It records only whether you agreed and when. Storing it is strictly necessary to respect the choice, which is why it does not itself need consent, and it is the only thing kept if you say no.
What we still do not do
- No advertising or tracking pixels. We do not run ads against religious content.
- No embedded video, maps or social widgets, which usually bring cookies with them.
- No web fonts loaded from a font service. The typefaces are served from this domain.
- No profile of you across other websites, and no sale or sharing of anything.
Changing your mind
You can change your answer here at any time. Withdrawing agreement removes the Google cookies from this browser and stops anything further being sent.
The staff console
Our own console remembers a sign-in code in the browser so that it does not have to be retyped on every page. It is not part of the public site and is not reachable from here.
Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, consent is required before storing anything on your device that is not strictly necessary. That is the question above, and it is asked before anything is stored rather than after.
Questions about any of this go to privacy@beliefcalendar.app. What we hold when you subscribe is set out in the privacy notice.
