Accessibility
What we have tested, and what we have not.
Conformance
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 at level AA. Every page layout is tested automatically on each build, in both light and dark appearance, and a failure stops the build. At the last check, 16 page renders across 8 layouts returned no issues.
What that testing does not prove
Automated checking finds only some of what the guidelines cover. It is good at contrast ratios, missing labels, heading order and landmark structure. It cannot judge whether alternative text is meaningful, whether a reading order makes sense, or whether a page is genuinely usable with a screen reader or by voice.
We have not yet carried out manual testing with assistive technology, and we have not yet tested with disabled people. Until we have, we describe this site as meeting the automated checks rather than as fully conformant, because the second claim would be broader than our evidence.
What we have done deliberately
- Colours are solved against every background they appear on, rather than checked once.
- The site works in light and dark, following your system setting.
- Typefaces are served from this domain and include the accents these subjects need, so no name is rendered wrongly or replaced by a fallback.
- Dates carry text as well as any visual marker, so nothing depends on colour alone.
- Wide tables and the calendar scroll inside their own container, so the page never scrolls sideways.
- There is no carousel, no automatic movement, and nothing that steals focus.
Known limitations
- Manual screen reader testing across JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver is not yet done.
- Some religious terms carry diacritics that a screen reader may pronounce oddly. We have not marked language changes within a page.
We would rather list these than leave you to discover them. If any of them blocks you, say so and we will prioritise the fix.
If something is not accessible to you
Write to support@beliefcalendar.app and tell us what you were trying to do, and which browser and assistive technology you were using if you know. We will reply within five working days.
If you need something on this site in another format, ask and we will provide it. Calendar dates are available as an iCal feed and, for organisations, as an API, both of which are read perfectly well by tools that struggle with a web page.
For public sector buyers
We are a supplier rather than a public sector body, so the Public Sector Bodies Accessibility Regulations 2018 do not apply to us directly. We publish this statement because you are required to check what you buy, and a vague answer is no use to you. If you need this in the format of the model accessibility statement, or need evidence for a procurement file, write to sales@beliefcalendar.app.
