One key per organisation

Every request carries your key in an X-API-Key header. Keys can be rotated at any time, and two can be live at once so a rotation needs no downtime.

Send it from your server

A key is a credential. Called from a browser or a mobile app it is readable by anyone using them, so keep the call server-side.

Certainty on every date

Each observance says whether it is fixed, calculated, liable to vary, or confirmed by a named authority. Do not treat them alike.
